Gavin L. Bordogna
Gavin is an 18 year old senior at East Allegheny High School. Gavin is the son of Jeff and Mara Bordogna, and has been a member of troop 85 since 2004. Gavin earned his Ad Altare Dei award on April 22, 2007 as well as 31 merit badges on his Trail to eagle, his favorite being First Aid and Water Sports. Gavin has enjoyed all of his camping experiences—especially the ones with no rain, Colorado being number one. He was also inducted into the Order of the Arrow, a high honor in scouting, by his fellow scouts.
Gavin’s Eagle Project was repainting 150 fire hydrants in North Versailles Township, that totaled 232 man hours. His purpose was to ensure the visibility of the fire hydrants so they can be identified faster in an emergency.
In school Gavin is involved in many activities. He has been a 9 year member of the Symphony Orchestra, playing the Viola. He demonstrates his range of talents by being the schools sound technician. He has helped with the musical and pep-rallies for the school as well as concerts and various events. Gavin also shows his leadership skills being the NHS President and Vice President of the Class Cabinet. Being involved in so many activities poses a challenge, but Gavin has maintained a 4.0 average through his entire high school career. He is consistently on the High Honor Roll and has been awarded both Student of the Month and Student of the Year. In addition, he has also had perfect attendance since 4th grade. Sports that Gavin has participated in include Golf, Swimming and Track. Within his track career Gavin has been a member on the 2008 section champ team as well as a WPIAL qualifier for the East Allegheny swim team. Some of his interests include camping, hiking, and cycling as well as snow skiing and water skiing.
Gavin plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh next fall, majoring in nursing, and continue to be involved in Boy Scouts by becoming a an Assistant Scoutmaster. |
